Lexcuria Lawyers at the 6th Gurjeet Singh Memorial Moot Court Competition, NLU Assam

We are pleased to share that Ms. Madhumita Bhattacharjee and Mr. Atanu Saikia, Managing Partners at Lexcuria Lawyers, had the honour of being invited as Judges at the 6th Gurjeet Singh Memorial Moot Court Competition, organised by the Moot Court Committee of National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLU Assam).

The event was held from 6th to 8th June 2025, with the semi-final rounds conducted physically at the NLU Assam campus on 8th June. Ms. Bhattacharjee had the privilege of judging one of the semi-final rounds, which featured some of the brightest law students from across the country, passionately arguing on complex issues of constitutional law.

This year’s moot problem centered around significant and timely legal challenges under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), 1967 and the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002. The depth of research, advocacy skills, and constitutional understanding demonstrated by the participants was truly commendable.

The event was not only a celebration of legal intellect and advocacy but also a wonderful platform for engagement between academia and legal professionals. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the organising committee of NLU Assam for the warm hospitality and for curating such a well-structured competition.

At Lexcuria Lawyers, we are committed to nurturing the next generation of legal minds, and it was a privilege to contribute to this meaningful initiative.
